Your driver will pick you up at 9.00 am at your accommodation in Marrakech. You will cross the high atlas with some nice stop in berber villages, visit the Kasbah of Telouet and have lunch there (Optional). After lunch departure to Ait Ben haddou via the old caravan off road . A 16th century UNESCO site, Ait Ben haddou is one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. A famous site for Hollywood films, Ait Ben haddou was used for the blockbuster movie of 2000, Gladiator. Visit the Kasbah, then heading to Ouarzazate for overnight including half board at Dar Chamaa , Ouarzazate.
After breakfast departure for the palm gardens of Skoura in the Dades valley, one of the most beautiful areas of Morocco. Off road through the rose valley, lunch break. In the afternoon continue to Todra Gorges. One hour of walking through spectacular landscape. Overnight including Dinner.
Today we take the off road toward M’hamid via N’koub and through the valley of the Draa River with millions of palm trees and interesting old Kasbahs. The tour continues to the gorgeous village of Tamegrout where you will visit an ancient library with manuscripts of mathematics, theology, astrology, etc. You will also have the possibility to visit a local pottery factory and an underground Kasbah. Overnight incl. half board at Hotel Kasbah Sahara Services, Mhamid.
After breakfast you will enjoy an amazing camel ride in the midst of the Sahara Desert. After approximately 3 hours ride, we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will travel further until we reach the Camp at Erg Lihoudi. Overnight including half board at the Sahara Service Standard Camp, Erg Lihoudi.
After breakfast you will take your way on camel back to reach M’hamid. Lunch at hotel after you will get picked up by your driver and your journey will continue by 4×4 through the beautiful desert landscape to a sacred Oasis. This Oasis consists of a small group of palm trees around a source in the midst of the desert, where you can find running water throughout the whole year. In the afternoon we will travel a further 15 km till we reach the dunes of Erg Chegaga with its height of 300 m and span of 40km. enjoy the splendor of the sunset on the waves of the great sand dunes. Dinner and overnight at the Sahara Service Standard Camp, Erg Chegaga.
Enjoy the beautiful sunrise up a sand dune! A once in a lifetime experience! After breakfast we will travel along the old Paris – Dakar road via the dry Lake of Iriqui towards FoumZguid. Lunch (Optional) will be served in the Berber village of Taznakht. Overnight including half board at the beautiful Auberge Irocha in Tisselday with an unforgettable view over the Atlas Mountains.
After a delicious breakfast on our guesthouse's sunny terrace, we'll return to Marrakech via the high Atlas Mountains, passing through a 2,260-meter-high pass. By early afternoon, we'll be back in "The Red City."
