Essaouira is a small fortified city on the edge of the Atlantic. Located 180 kilometers west of Marrakech, the city is a less touristy place where people are generally friendlier and where you put less pressure for you to buy. On arrival you will explore the small city starting from the port, the Portuguese fortress, the old medina, the museum arts, the sekkala and the old kewish quarter.

The Picturesque coastal city of Essaouira
The picturesque coastal city of Essaouira is the nearest seaside town to Marrakesh and well worth a visit. Previously known by its Portuguese name Mogador, a fortress still commands the entrance to the harbor and the medina itself has walled ramparts.
Essaouira is usually much cooler than Marrakech and can be windy at times, it is no coincidence that the world wind surf championships are held here. Once in Essaouira you will enjoy a guided tour around this beautiful little town including lunch in local sea food restaurant. We will be back to Marrakesh around 6.00pm.
