M II: Desert Prints

Marrakech - Mhamid - Marrakech

4x4, 2 days, 1 night, camp or hotel

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Draa Valley - Mhamid

Departure from Marrakech early morning towards the desert gate (Mhamid). The first interesting haven that we cross is the high Atlas Mountains at the summit of 2.260 m (Tizi n’Tichka). Along that way you will enjoy the berber life in old adobe villages and nice sceneries. We reach one of the heritages classified by the UNESCO, which is the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou. Lunch will be enjoyed in the Hollywood of North Africa named Ouarzazate. Later on, we continue our exploration to reach the Draa valley at the length of 200 km. We cross partly off road to reach Zagora. We continue for a worthy visit to the historical village of Tamgroute for the visit of an underground kasbah and coran library. We reach the door of Sahara desert, Mhamid. The night will be spent either in a nice hotel or in a desert camp under the nomad tent in the sand dunes of Mhamid.

Day 2: Mhamid – Agdz – High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes and the breakfast meal, ride your camel back to Mhamid to reach your vehicle, then drive through the Draa valley and Agdz to discover the hidden treasures of the Southern region and continue to Ouarzazate where you visit the Kasbah Taourirt (lunch on the spot). Afternoon drive back to Marrakech via the high Atlas Mountains. We reach the red city around 06:00 p.m.
